i heard there was an experiment with this concept at BM last year by the BLBC
true or false?
if true how did it work?

my reason for asking is i'm involved with the Black Rock International Burner Hostel (freaken mouth full huh?) burnerhostel.tribe.net/
it's run out of Fred Hagemeisters (Hagey) place in Sparks,Reno
our camp has some 130 people from all around the world and a bunch of state side folk who make the journey each year to the Playa
anyhooo, Hagey has this fetish thing for bikes.....so he has, over the recent years pruchased or been gifted heaps of bikes..aprox 80 in storage at present

now bikes are good mmmmk..but they are a pig to store, maintain, and transport to and from the Playa just for the pleasure of those in our camp to cruise around on

so i was thinking that if the experiment worked and you were looking to increase the size of your bike pool would you be interested in taking over the bikes/adding them to your pool and having them available to the citizens of black rock?

i'm not sure how this would work ( on the Playa) but if there was 3 stations...one near Center Camp, one at 3 o'clock and one at 9 o'clock
then maybe people would be inclined to return the bikes to the nearest station!!??

our camp is near the 9 o'clock key hole and could be a perminent station but it would be your responsibility to set up, monitor ( with our help) and remove post event
we also have some cohorts at 3 o'clock in the form of Kamp Apokoliptica which this year are forming Terminal City a large collective of camps www.apokiliptika.com/termina...page.htm
i havnt' talked to them about this as yet but if you think this could work and is worth the effort i'll give them a heads up......
